My Advocare 24 Day Challange

With the warm weather upon us who doesn’t want to get a jump start on their beach-ready bod?? With all of the different diets, pills and workout routines how do you know what is going to work best for you? Well lucky you because I have partnered with Advocare to test this one out for ya!

The thing I love about challenges like this is that if you feel like you have meandered off your ideal healthy path, things like this are a great jump start back into that! And typically the results you will see will motivate you to continue to be active and healthy. So check out below what all I was taking and how things went!

The challenge is split up into two phases, the first 10 days you are in a cleanse phase and then the last 14 days you are in a max phase. Below is a little description of each phase and the products I took during them.

Cleanse Phase: Prepares your body for optimal nutrition.

  • Herbal Cleanse System: Two different packages of pills (AM & PM)
  • OmegaPlex: Omega- 3 fatty acids to help with overall wellness
  • AdvoCare Spark: Sugar-free powdered energy supplement with 20 vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.

MAX Phase: Fuel your body for maximum results.

  • Metabolic Nutrition System: They have 3 types, MNS E that focuses on energy, MNS C that focuses on appetite control and MNS 3 that is a combination of both. There are four sets of pills you take 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. I took a combo of MNS E and MNS C to see which one worked better and I preferred, MNS E.
  • Meal Replacement Shakes: Best for breakfast, has 22-24 grams of protein, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 5-6 grams of fiber and 26 vitamins and minerals.
  • AdvoCare Spark: Sugar-free powdered energy supplement with 20 vitamins, minerals, and nutrients.
  • OmegaPlex: Omega- 3 fatty acids to help with overall wellness.

I also opted in for the Catalyst pills throughout the challenge which helped with building and maintaining muscle mass.

Cleanse Phase:

I was definitely excited to be doing the challenge and I am always game for a routine that holds me accountable to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Since my mornings are busy with clients it was a little tricky for me to manage taking everything I needed to take/drink before lunch but the meal replacement shakes made that a lot easier. The peanut butter chocolate one was seriously so good and I looked forward to drinking it, which is not always the case with meal replacement shakes! The AdvoCare app also sends reminders throughout the day so that even on those busy days you know when it’s time for your next meal or set of pills. During the cleanse phase you will want to be more strict with what you are eating, so I mainly stuck with my shakes, lean protein, fruits and lots of veggies, oh and lots and lots of water! I know drinking water can get boring so I would add limes, strawberries and/or oranges to mine!

MAX Phase:

The MAX phase had a little more flexibility with what you could eat but still overall you are eating whole foods. This phase was a little trickier because you were taking more pills but again the app would send you reminders and as long as you remembered to take them with you if you went out then you didn’t really have anything to worry about! It was during this phase that I was able to start seeing some changes, my abs and arms were becoming more defined which was great and motivating despite the fact that the number on the scale wasn’t really moving. As a trainer, I know first hand that the number on the scale can be deceptive and to measure all your results that way does you a disservice. As a girl sometimes it’s still hard but when I looked in the mirror the results were there.

*Disclaimer: I did this challenge over Valentine’s Day (not my smartest move but there’s something every month right?) and let myself enjoy the dinner without stressing about what I was eating. One meal is not going to ruin all of your hard work so remember to let yourself have fun once in a while, otherwise, if you are too strict for too long it is more likely that you will end up going overboard eating all the things you miss!

Overall, I am glad I did the challenge. It was a great way to refocus on my habits and hold me accountable to all those things I even tell my clients to do. As a girl, I think it can be hard to get out of our own head and acknowledge the results that are in front of us. I only lost a couple pounds but I lost 2.5 inches overall (1.5 inches in my waist and 1 inch in my hips) and I can continue to see more definition throughout my body! It was a great reminder that the scale doesn’t matter, I looked and felt better and that was in the end a bigger achievement than what number was on the scale. If you are interested in testing out some of these products do not hesitate to reach out to my rep Michael! He was great about following up and able to answer all of my questions, and trust me I asked a lot!

Whatever you decide to do, do something! Start something today, it is not too late to get the body and life you want. You are worth the time and expense, you’ve got this one life so enjoy it to the fullest!

Cheers!
